Danielle Norcini is an experimental particle physicist developing ultra-sensitive detectors to address questions in particle, nuclear, and astroparticle physics. Her group builds and operates low-threshold detectors to search for dark matter and study neutrinos, including Skipper CCDs capable of resolving individual electrons produced by rare particle interactions. By combining cryogenic instrumentation, low-background techniques, underground experimentation, and novel detector R&D, her work aims to open new windows on signals at the edge of detectability. Norcini was previously a KICP & Grainger Fellow at the University of Chicago, received her PhD from Yale University, and earned a BS in Physics and a BA in Philosophy from Penn State University.
