Danielle Norcini helps develop highly sensitive detector to expand the search for dark matter

Assistant Professor Danielle Norcini recently co-authored a paper in Physical Review Letters titled “Probing Benchmark Models of Hidden-Sector Dark Matter with DAMIC-M,” in which she and fellow researchers developed plans for a new detector that allows researchers to look for lighter, weaker dark matter particles. The fully constructed experiment, called DAMIC-M, will be the most sensitive detector in the world searching for light and weak dark matter particles.
