PhD candidate Janvi Madhani and Postdoctoral Fellow Charlotte Welker presented their research on satellite galaxies at this year’s American Astronomical Society conference. The Hopkins team employed the New Horizon cosmological simulation to determine that 30% of Milky Way-type galaxies display planes. A new article in the Hub examines how Madhani and Welker used the supercomputer simulation to counter the results of previous studies.
