PhD candidate Jacob Hamer presented the findings from his Astronomical Journal publication on hot Jupiter exoplanet formation at this year’s American Astronomical Society conference. Hamer was the lead author of a paper that outlined a way to determine the relative age of hot Jupiters using new measurements from the Gaia spacecraft, which is tracking more than a billion stars. A new article in the Hub breaks the science behind determining the relative age of these hot exoplanets.
