Professor Mark Robbins taught at Johns Hopkins for more than 30 years, studying the atomic origin of macroscopic phenomena such as earthquakes and avalanches and helping lead the establishment of major university computer facilities. He died unexpectedly on Thursday, August 13, 2020.
