Sihao Cheng

Sihao Cheng received his PhD from Johns Hopkins University in 2021. He is interested in using statistical analysis to understand our Universe, including topics in observational cosmology, stellar physics, and extrasolar planets. His work led to the discovery of stars that shine out of gravitational sedimentation and applications of a new statistic that borrows ideas from convolutional neural networks in cosmology. He received the outstanding paper award in astrostatistics (2020).
