Ana Damjanovic received her Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In the lab of Prof. Klaus Schulten she focused on understanding the quantum physics of photosynthetic light harvesting. She continued to work on photosynthesis during her first postdoc in the lab of Prof. Graham Fleming at UC Berkeley. She did her second postdoc at Johns Hopkins University where she studied internal ionizable groups through molecular dynamics simulations. Currently Ana is studying ion channels.
I am interested in understanding charge, energy and information transfer in biological systems, particularly in the field of neuroscience. I use a variety of computational and theoretical tools, and am also involved in developments of new computational methods (e.g., molecular dynamics simulations at constant pH).
