Tyrel McQueen Awarded the 2013 McMillan Award

Tyrel McQueen has just been awarded the 2013 McMillan Award. In the spirit of Bill McMillan’s own research, the award recognizes exceptional achievements in theory, experiment, or both. A candidate must have received a PhD after May 30, 2009, to be considered for the 2013 award. Tyrel is cited “for innovative advances in materials design and characterization in the fields of frustrated magnetism and iron based superconductivity.”

For those not in the field, this award is highly visible in the field of condensed matter physics, and has been given over the years to a very impressive list of people (including our own Peter Armitage).
